Merry Grass (Foxtail Fern)
Merry Grass, commonly called the Foxtail Fern (Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers'), is not a true fern but a member of the asparagus family, grown for its dense, bottlebrush-like plumes of soft, needle-fine bright green foliage that arch gracefully outward from a central crown. It adds a feathery, textural contrast to patios, shaded courtyards, and indoor corners with filtered light, and mature plants occasionally produce small white flowers followed by red berries. Its tuberous roots make it fairly drought-tolerant once established.
